Serious Safety Concerns for South Africa Hunt

First you will be in the hands of an outfitter who absolutely know where to go and where not to go. You should be completely safe. His description which I have no reason to doubt is true would be like someone living in Atlanta today where you should not live due to danger. I know where those are...

Want to buy reloading press and dies- Advice needed

I have your exact set up in the US and love it with zero problems for me. I recommend picking up a trickler to go with it given I just do not trust digital powder loaders...I still trust and love the old dependable RCBS manual beam scales and then use my trickler to finish.

    A new plains game rifle

I used my 404 Jeffery on plains game and took two at 300 yards which speaks for the rifle not me given I am but an average shot. There is no such thing as too much gun. If you want another rifle just to get one the following are all great PG calibers: 275/7x57, 30-06, 300 WM, 338

    Is south africa reasonably safe?

It is given i’ve been there 8 times. I do not however go touring in Jburg! I fly in stay at City Lodge and if hunting in SA either my ph picks me up or I fly out next morning to final destination. me personally I would never go out anywhere in Jburg at night. just me

Hunting Ethics of shooting Buffalo bull while he’s laying down

I have seen some members post sharing when they can get close enough they feel comfortable taking a shot with a buff laying down and I support that versus a say normal distant shot where we might not feel sure until the bull stands up

    Short barrel trend

Good points…for me it is more about where do I love to hunt the most in Africa…I love fairly heavy jess where a long barrel can get caught up.
