We don't really consider ourselves long-range shooters and we certainly don't set out to shoot long range but there are times that necessitate shooting at some pretty long ranges. Check out Vanessa's longest shot ever on an ostrich of all things. I wasn't impressed that she hit it.....I was...
I own both an Excalibur and a Stryker and really like both. The Stryker quality has really improved since being acquired by Excalibur. We just picked up a new Stryker Katana with the custom matched scope and all we needed to do was make a 1" horizontal adjustment at 60 yards and it was dead on...
Just back from South Africa and our bow case ended up with SAPS on both our international and domestic arrivals. Once I opened it they were satisfied. Our Meet and Greet service did warn us, however, to carry the original sales receipt for our bows as SAPS occasionally requests them. They didn't.
Just back from South Africa and SAA was fine with ammo in checked luggage on international arrival and departure but it had to be separate for domestic flights. We use pistol cases for our ammo and lock with TSA locks. No hassle at all.
We've just started uploading some of our previous episodes of Outdoor Quest TV onto Youtube. There should be more coming soon. Lots of Africa, mountain sheep, South America, New Zealand and of course North American hunts. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCryK-TVoxC2Q5oglxBiRP0g/videos

International flights in and out of Jo'berg can have ammo in luggage but domestic flights within SA in must be separate. I'd do yourself a favour and use a meet and greet service in Jo'berg. It will save a lot of hassle and stress.
New Zealand is not on the list of countries where trophies require secondary treatment. CFIA should never have to look at it. Ensure you have all your paperwork including Vet Certificate and you should be able to clear through regular CBSA agent. I've done it several times but I would print all...
Calgary is the worst place to ship trophies into. 100% of raw African shipments are sent for secondary treatment. They even sent our last Australian shipment for secondary treatment even though Australia isn't on the list of countries where it's required. The crate was never opened by CFIA, they...
Traveling around Canada with a firearm is easy. If you are not in the vehicle, the firearm must be out of sight and the vehicle locked. There are no Federal trigger lock requirements despite what some of our LEOs believe. National Parks are another story. Technically, you are not permitted to...
I just got back from a buff hunt and had many people tell me a 250-grain GMX was too light. I've long been a fan of tough, light for calibre bullets. Weight retention equals penetration and velocity equals increased tissue damage. You can get both with a mono metal. Plus recoil is significantly...
