Are you familiar with how they eventually opened the action? The stuck firing pin seems as likely reason as any, but for all my mallet banging I’m in the same predicament. For clarity, it’s a hidden hammer (or striker) O/U. Not that I think that has much barring on the solution.

I only have a 4oz mallet available. In addition to buttstock and muzzle whacks I put used a fiberglass driveway stake to pound the primer area directly. Still no release.

the lever will not budge. The forend come off and on cleanly. The hammers are not cocked. The safety moves cleanly between F and S without affecting the opening lever.

The height of the scope/rings/bases plays a role here with such short MPBR. I have friends that use those hollow bases that allow one to use a scope and iron sights. I think my favorite part of this idea is that Chaszel offers these in so many different cartridges. You can have a double rifle in a dozen different cartridges or a combination gun depending on your particular situation at the moment. I really hope they regulate well. Such a cool idea

I appreciate the info FWB. As a nonhandloader, I’m worried about excessive brass thickness around the case mouth. Maybe it’s just my ignorance showing. I assume the case would need to be annealed before resizing. Does the brass “flow” evenly away from the mouth into the sidewalls?

I appreciate that. I don’t handload, so the brass alone would be my less preferred route. RWS and another German company still make the cartridges, but they do not export these rounds to the US. NECG doesn’t seem interested in working with them either for this ammunition.

The Browning finish. I personally prefer the warm glow of hand rubbed wood….ahem, rifle stock. I have knocked of a high sheen finish back with fine steel wool. Sorry to ignore the question as my preference falls toward eggshell.
