Thanks for that info. I will reach out to Thunder Beast Arms again to see if their position has changed from 2018 when they wrote "We have released a few of the 1/2x28 versions for only special and approved applications, which any magnum would not be."

Is that thread pitch correct? I've had TBAC tell me they do not recommend and will not support any use of 1/2x28 threaded adapters for magnum cartridges. The R8 barrels I've had threaded were all done at 9/16x24. Also, any pics of the case? How many scopes fit in it? 2 as well?

If you want stronger cases, find a really short fishing rod case. That's what I used for my barrels for my AXMC as I didn't care about size or weight.

I really like the Blaser neoprene sleeves. Not long ago they were only $20 each, now they seem to be $35 and up.

One thing I noticed is that the HF ones seem much heavier for the size compared to Pelican. Something to be aware of for checked bag weights.

Try the Hornady Precision Hunter ELD-X ammo. I found that very accurate in a 7PRC rifle. I think you picked good components there. I've not tried the American Gen II. I just shot someone's Gen I at the range one day. I didn't find the action or trigger quite as nice as Tikka, but it's not bad...

I had a PM asking about it so wanted to update here to be clear - Tip will relieve your stock to fit the barrel if you don't feel comfortable doing yourself, but there is a charge for it. I can't recall the amount since when we talked we were more focused on being able to do it myself.
