Here’s some real world ballistic data from a factory box of Hornady Dangerous Game series ammo in 404J. Fired from a Rigby Big Game rifle and captured by my Garmin chronograph. Hornady advertised velocity is 2300 fps and I was getting 2289 fps, an 11fps difference, after shooting 17 rounds...

I'm confident in 50 yds with a Trijicon RMR HD 1.0 MOA red dot. Interestingly, the RMR HD provides a circle around the center dot to quickly find the projection. With the circle-dot, you can have both eyes open and you just look "through" the dot and simply focus on the target. It's helpful...
