    Zimbabwe elephant cull

If they were desperate they would have issued more like 1750 permits, to get the population closer to the carrying capacity...... This sounds to me like it's more about people-pleasing politics (free meat) than about science-based wildlife management. 50 permits won't even begin to address the...

    Question for Raven Rocks

@RAVEN ROCKS PRECISION I'm also very interested in some 404J brass, preferably Norma. Can you comment?

Boots for those with weak ankles

I'm really just talking about clearing the ground by 1" or so when jumping rope, just enough for the rope to pass under.......

Wheels up for buffalo in the Omay with D&Y in 3, 2, 1......

First I had to show her how to use the TV remote...... Then we talked about how to descale the coffee machine and what days the trash picks up. I decided it was best not to teach her how to set the thermostat...... ;)

Wheels up for buffalo in the Omay with D&Y in 3, 2, 1......

Rifle dialed in and packed, check. Ammo packed, check. Boots broken in, check. Been walking 4-6 miles every day for months now, check. Reviewed the Perfect Shot one last time, check. Wife reassured, check. Flight, you are cleared for launch. Commence primary ignition sequence!

Why no hunting in India, and could it ever be re-opened?

I'm starting to think anti-human is closer to the mark, and perhaps even inhuman.......

Why no hunting in India, and could it ever be re-opened?

"But sir, I'm here on a fact-finding mission!"

Why no hunting in India, and could it ever be re-opened?

I thought the same thing; oddly specific numbers..... they always make me suspicious. I find it much more compelling when the biologists give you something more like: "We surveyed district 12 over a 24 month period and observed a population density of approximately 1.7 breeding age adults per...

Why no hunting in India, and could it ever be re-opened?

@Montymm this is a fantastic post, helps provide a lot of cultural insight and is the sort of discussion I was hoping for when I posted this thread, even if not the answers I was hoping for...... You should post more often, sir!

LOL @Hunter-Habib with the receipts! ;)

Why no hunting in India, and could it ever be re-opened?

@Hunter-Habib thank you for your thoughtful response. I apologize for misunderstanding your nationality and hope no offense was taken. The culling photos you shared are astonishing. What a waste. All this is pretty concerning; I can easily imagine a very similar scenario developing in the USA...

Why no hunting in India, and could it ever be re-opened?

I'm hoping I can entice @Hunter-Habib to join in this thread with historical perspective and thoughts about the current reality and the future..... I suspect there are few individuals who can speak with more knowledge on this subject. Listened to a great podcast yesterday (Blood Origins Ep...

What Watch do you wear when you hunt?

I can confirm that. Also, I'm pretty sure Rolex will not sell you a factory clasp or strap, so that's a plus for Omega if they will. I can also confirm that a Rolex AD will not perform the change for you with an aftermarket strap. One interesting thing that I realized: if you learn how to make...

What Watch do you wear when you hunt?

Not leather, but I have successfully fitted a Rubber B strap to my Explorer II. I chose the black one with the thin orange stripe, it goes with the orange GMT hand on the dial. It does use the Rolex clasp. I bought the proper tools for the spring bars (Amazon), watched a few YouTube videos...
