I’ve hunted deer with a TC Contender carbine in 30/30 quite a bit. It does kill deer well. It just doesn’t have the “shock” effect that faster moving rounds have. That said, I loaded up some 110gr CEB raptors at 2700 fps and may give them a try at some point. I think they would really flatten...

What kind of pic rail do you have on your 85? Interested to see that.

The Pro 2 stock is actually a little lighter than the older pro aluminum stocks. My 2.0 with the 416 Selous barrel weighs 8lbs 1.5oz. While my standard Pro in 458 with Selous weighs 8lbs 4.5oz. So 3 ounces lighter.
