Agreed. Weight depends on use. I want this to be a SS (or coated) rough weather carry rifle. I'm young enough that the weight won't bother me, but I also ask why carry more than necessary? A 9.0 - 9.5# all up .375 seems about ideal to me, at least in theory.

I'll be able to pick the contour my CZ since he's really barreling as well. I should be able to hit 8.5# or so without too much fuss. Stock is 2.34, action 3.1, and 26" #4 bbl is 3.5. I don't plan on 26".

I think I can get the CZ for $800-$850 to my FFL, so add on $20 for the xfer. I think that's pretty good considering it is bedded and includes the rings as well.
