While I have some sympathy for your point of view and also run a 22 inch unsurpassed 7mm08 I also have mates running surpassed 16 inch barrel .308s with 5 inch suppressors. They are short and handy as well as a little quieter but are also capable out to 300+ yds. My short bush rifle is a...

I’m from NZ. Most common 16 inch calibre is a 308.Handliading can make a 130gn bullet go 3000fps (ttsx often used out to 300 yards) or for a bit longer range a 168gn eldm going slow. What Watch do you wear when you hunt?

For everyday wear including hunting I wear a Seiko turtle with a nato strap. Sweat, blood, rain and mud don’t phase it. A 1971 Speedmaster is my other watch. While I have worn it on backcountry hunts in NZ I ghave now retired it from this kind of work.

Hi, I am hoping do do a few safaris over the next few years. The 375 has been chosen as a sentimental favourite to start with but I hope to hunt buffalo and possibly other large dangerous game. Maybe not on the first African trip.

T Thanks for the welcome and the feedback. I have looked through the info ion the site with regard to the CZ550. As you note there is a wealth of info. I have worked on the rifle myself to smooth out the action and feeding mechanism. I appear to be lucky that it is feeding smoothly with 270...
