    Planning to hunt New Zealand

Aren’t they between Wanaka and Cromwell? I’m lucky enough to live down here and commute between Invercargill, Wanaka and Queenstown for work. Beautiful countryside. I’d always recommend people who make the trip to add on a side trip to Doubtful Sound; and do some trout fishing. Love Wanaka...

    Planning to hunt New Zealand

Are you looking for free range reds or estate? Tahr as a good foot hunt or would you want one taken with the helicopter ? I’d look at Sambar, and rusa too whilst here. For a good foot hunted tahr you’d struggle to look past Hardyards Hunting. Sambar and Rusa - Chris sharpe trophy hunting

    Heym factory regulation options

I was going to say surely it’s just a matter of getting the weight and speeds of the load that it’s been regulated for ? Then match that with whatever combination of brass, projectiles and powder you want to utilise? I’ve got a 470 being built that’s at the moment being regulated with Hornady...

    Charles Lancaster 470

I started off my international hunting chasing the various Capra species around the world.. in fact the passion for that was one of the driving factors around us emigrating half the world away to New Zealand where I could happily chase Tahr and chammy to my hearts content. Unfortunately a rather...

Question about Shipping costs for Buff skull - RSA to UK

I’m always curious why if it’s one buff skull you couldn’t put it in a bag and fly back with it - then pay for fumigation etc when you land in the uk? I was resident in the uk for 30 odd years and emigrated to NZ. I quite regularly bring skull mounts back into NZ with me (non cites species)...

Help Me Learn About Water Buffalo

I've been fortunate enough to hunt them three years running. Year one I hunted with Simon Kyle-Little. An absolute legend of water buffalo hunting. Font of knowledge and a great first big game hunt. Last two times i've been with Walkabout Safaris. Wonderful and managed to take great banteng as...

New Westley Richards 470NE on order, who wants to hear about it?

Assuming they’ve not regulated it yet and as such haven’t confirmed what Grain bullet she’ll be using and as such will engrave that on after ?? Having said that are there that many bullet weights to choose for a 470?

Need a new custom for Africa!

I got my Lancaster .375 London best in about 16 months which I thought was incredibly quick! My 470 from them will be around 3 years.. so yes it’s definitely possible for some of the top makers to perform to a set timescale.

AUSTRALIA: Banteng & Water Buffalo With Walkabout Safaris

Australia is a pretty straightforward country for me to hunt being based in NZ. I can leave home at lunchtime, be in Darwin by midnight and be in camp by lunch the next day - its a convenient way for me to hunt big game and with children and a business much easier for me to get approval for from...
