That makes sense - most people can't shoot well at all. Personally, I would want more than one shot when facing dangerous game. Nothing wrong with hunting deer or elk with a 458 either.
I'd love to hear more about the rationale for a single shot 458. I almost bought one recently, but am not using my current bolts as much as I should. Given the DG nature of the 458, why a single shot?
My R8 458 looks an awful lot like yours, lol. There are things I don't like about it and things I prefer on other rifles, but no big bolt rifle works quite as well for me as the R8. Fantastic shooter.

Forgive me for not looking back over this thread just yet, but what load do you guys prefer for an all round hunter with the 350RM? Any factory loadings still available, or just handloads? What's the do all choice for deer to moose to griz and everything in between?
