    Tinnitus driving me crazy

Hearing aids do turn down the volume on my tinnitus most of the time. However, when I remove them, the tinnitus often comes back with a vengeance. I spent a lot of time in Latin American jungles. At night, it is very loud. When it gets quiet is when you need to be on high alert. My tinnitus...

New Rifle & some reloading advice sought

Congratulations on your double. My first double rifle was also a Merkel 141 in 9.3x74R, and it is the only one I still have. I have killed a lot of game in the US and Africa with it at ranges past 200 yards. Back when I was able to visit Merkel USA in Alabama regularly, these rifles came...

Can you reload a single shot fast enough for DG?

For an old fat man. I am pretty fast with a single shot. But I am also at that age where I have good days and bad days, so no. I would not do it. "Don't never take a chance you don't have to." MAJ Robert Rogers Safe hunting

    Chapuis or Merkel

I think it is BS that the Beretta Gallery is washing their hands of this and do not want to provide any support. Nothing like standing behind products you sell and providing customer service!

    Remington Model 81 .300 Savage

I love the Model 8 and 81. I had a Model 8 in 25 Remington (Frank Hamer!) and a Model 81 in 300 Savage. They both shot great. I loaded the 25 Remington with Hornady 117gr RN bullets and 180 Remington CL in the 300 Savage. I used the Model 8 to kill a lot of game in South America. They both...

    Tinnitus driving me crazy

Wearing my hearing aids tones it down considerably at times. Not always. I have to sleep with a fan or a small room AC unit if I want to sleep. But even that is often not enough to tame military grade tinnitus. It is definitely a process living with it. Safe shooting

Scope ring options for Rigby Highland Stalker in 275 Rigby

I had that problem. I’m just over 6’ tall and the way I shoot, all Rigby stocks are too long. Mama is 5’ so it is difficult for her when we share a rifle. My solution for one of our trips was to mount a Leupold scope as it has a longer eye relief than a Z3. Later I had the stock trimmed a bit...
