    Blackbuck Hunts

There was & may still be some free range in a couple of areas, one spot I think they went crazy to eradicate them however ? Yes Argentina has some huge Bucks.

Rhino Poaching Rifles - What have you seen?

Strangely never caught, seen or even heard of a “Rhino” poacher with a Muzzle loader Black Powder rifle or even a Shotgun for that matter, I think way too under powdered & inaccurate for the purpose ? Maybe way way back it was possible, when I was in Zimbabwe in the 80s you would hear of some...

Rhino Poaching Rifles - What have you seen?

That looks like a nice Sako ? In South Africa a LOT of Brno 602 & CZ 550 & there was a push at one time to band them from new import, of course not necessarily now as discontinued. I know one group of lesser connected Poachers used suppressed 8x57 & short .303 Brit . We caught a couple with...

    Man eaters of Tsavo…

Wild life is decimated outside Parks in Kenya & the Parks look like fence less Zoos surrounded by Gosts, Cattle & Humanity which I’m sure poison any predator that dare leaves there boundary’s . Maybe strayed in from Tanzania, Uganda or some War torn country near by, accustomed to eating...

    Gorgeous Custom Bowie

Yes I miss reading his posts on Big Stuff ! When I travel to countries I can’t have a firearm in it is nice to have a couple of Knives at least, a Big one & a few smaller ones. Lynn Thompson (& crew) of Cold Steel was a regular at our camps for many years, I have several of his knives, I...

Of course the Ugandan is a different species as in East African, the biggest I have seen were actually in Kenya OMG made you heart stop, just awesome ! That first one is a very big Old guy & I hope the last one is from Zambia, also an Old guy, those Impala in Zambia should be in another...

Any experiences with the forest duiker sub-species?

So you mean a flat skin, actually would look nice & never thought of taking the small antelopes hides. Also there are a few Duikers listed on CITES & some or all will need paperwork, I think Blue is one of them ? Oh just saw your next post, well I can’t afford to get things full body mounted &...

Any experiences with the forest duiker sub-species?

Not sure if you mean Head Skins/Capes, Full body skins for mounting or flat skins ? I know I felt bad leaving the Maxwell’s skin & only took the skull, it was softish hair almost like a fur, much different from normal Duikers I have taken.

My grandfathers Argali Altai skull mount from Mongolia

lol I suspected you were in Australia & was going to say that but then I saw the address on the letter & later you said as much. The Stone is not a monster but I’m sure has some value, if you were in the US I’m not sure you can even sell Mt Sheep mounts or horns ? The Taxidermy work isn’t of a...

Any experiences with the forest duiker sub-species?

Where I hunted in Bissau, we shot Maxwells Duiker, saw a Red Flanked & were in the same jungle as Yellow Backed but I didn't see any ! I believe there are other species there but the Jungle & Cashew Forests aren't the place for a species survey .

My grandfathers Argali Altai skull mount from Mongolia

Well if you mean the the Skull & horns you have there & not the hunt to take one, not much like most trophies I'm afraid . That doesn't actually look like a High Altai Argali, bit more like the smaller Gobi Argali, that's if it was taken in Mongolia or China ? As said, priceless if taken by...

My grandfathers Argali Altai skull mount from Mongolia

Awesome thank you for sharing, when I was a kid I read a Gun magazine where a US hunter went into China & shot 66in or so inch Rams & picked up a 70in model with 22in bases ! These have always been super expensive to me, I think in the late 80’s they were US $25-30,000 & we were .40cent to the...

AUSTRALIA: Going Down Under With Greg Pennicott Safaris

Excellent, are you hunting on Mary River Station out from Pine Creek, I used to work on there back in the day ? The Rusa rut should/could be starting if you hear a few drawn out moans or roars, ask about a Rusa Stag !
