Had a Ruger American predator when I was living in New Zealand,it loved ppu 120gr factory loads. Only reload I did for it was the 130gr game changer, powder I used was ar2206(h489). can't remember the exact load but I got it going to just over 2500 fps from the 22inch barrel. No pressure signs...

I did consider the 35 whelen but don't really get much more than owning a 243 beast Slayer lol

I'd load the 06 up with a good 180 or 200 and off to Africa I go for plains game. I know people are going to say it's marginal for eland yet the 300 is fine. Yes if you are going to shoot beyond 300 definitely but 250 to 300 is my limit and if I don't think I can place my shot in the right spot...

I'd keep the 30 06 and get rid of the 300 win, I don't think I'd get enough Xtra with the 300 mag. I know it's better especially with heavy projectiles, just not enough for me to to get thumped by the Xtra recoil. If I was going to soak up more recoil I'd go with a 338 of some sort or even a 375 H&H

If you wanted a rimfire I'd go 17hmr or 17wsm. I used to have the second one and it was deadly at over 200 yards

Yeah I agree, I was considering the Sako 100 if I ever win big Or even a single barrel switch barrel system
