    New Guy Northern California

Hey everyone, I joined a few years ago after I bought a hunt at a local sports show then disappeared for a while when I got bit by the sheep bug. I hunted Dall in the NWT a couple years ago and took a great sheep and caribou. I'd love to do another one of those hunts again. After that I got back...

That’s a great looking gun, congrats! And good luck on your buffalo hunt.

What are your thoughts on the following rifles?

I bought my nephew a savage 223 and I have a savage 25/06 as a loaner gun. Both have no business shooting as well as they do for $350. Especially the 25/06. I actually need to hunt with that gun myself just for fun and it’s as accurate as most custom rifles I’ve seen.

    My first 375

No, just the factory floorplate, I'm assuming. The previous owner just had it engraved.

    My first 375

Hey gents, I recently picked up my first 375 H&H. It’s a CZ 550. I’d been looking for one of these or a Model 70 for a while, just never found anything local to me as I wanted to fondle it before buying. My neighbor called me one day and said this was at one of the local gun shops. So I went...

Your Top 5 Animals from North America

    1. All the sheep species. Especially thin horns though. The areas they live in are incredible to me. I was fortunate enough to take a Dall sheep and a caribou a couple years ago in the NWT. I look at those mounts every day and dream of going back. 2. Mule deer. I love hunting mule deer and want...

    Most Coveted Animal in Africa?

Cape buffalo have been at the top of my bucket list for as long as I can remember. I can remember seeing them in magazines as a teenager and the line of they look at you like you owe them money sucked me in and it’s something I have to do. I’m planning to make it happen in the next few years. I...

    New Guy From Northern California

She won’t be going on this trip but I was telling her just a little bit ago that we’ll probably do a family trip there in the next couple of years! She wants me and a few friends to go on this trip. She’s the most understanding woman and knows that hunting is where I reset and de-stress from...

    New Guy From Northern California

Oh man I'm sorry to hear about your friend. Its always a huge regret not doing the things we should have done while we still can. Thats one of the reasons I booked my first African hunt, my wife really pushed me into it, said I should do it now and not look back and wish I would have hunted more.

    New Guy From Northern California

Hey Paul, I know both of those areas pretty well. I have some family that lives up near Callahan and hunt blacktails up there quite a bit. Beautiful country. My uncle lived in Colusa probably 20+ years ago and I have done a few jobs in that area.
