i have only found allen head also, all the torx head seem to be metric threads. i wounder if Ruger have torx head screws. in new rifles?

Inch pounds !!!! A good mod is to change the front screw to a hex or torx head, the old slot screw is hard to tighten up to that torque. i love those Ruger 77s.

Consider a Howa 1500 or Weatherby Vanguard in 6.5 PRC with a carbon fiber 24 inch rapped bbl & carbon fiber stock both are light rifles , a 7mm rem mag with a 22 inch bbl is not going to give you its full potential, a 270 WIN would be better in a 22 inch bbl the other option is a Nosler 21...

The Weatherby Vanguard & Howa 1500 are very good rifles & great value for the money & the BELL& CARLSON & HS PRESSION STOCK version make it even better i own 6 of them a 204 Ruger a 243 AI , 308 WIN 270 WIN 270 WSM & 7 MM REM MAG. All shoot 1 moa or better.

Spot on Bob, I see people at the range with big powerful scopes on hunting rifles so they can see bullet holes with out a spotting scope at 100 meters +& try to hunt with the same scope only to screw up shots at game in the field.

I use a Lyman pin tumbler, hot water,& dish washing detergent, & a tee spoon of citric acid from the supermarket i have never used the case cleaner liquid you can buy . Resize brass run in tumbler for 1.5 hours rinse in hot water & dry in the sun there is no shortage of sun in Queensland...

I would pull it apart resize with decaping pin removed from die to save primers & reuse bullets & powder reduce powder charge & go from there.
