FYI - I have a highland stalker on the chopping block (30.06), if for some reason you're interesting in exploring pulling the proverbial trigger!

The "massive hole" is a myth. I will say, however, the deer took a certainly harder ballistic hit and fell much sooner than my 30.06 would have given.

Like Goldilocks, after experiencing the 416 Rigby, 30.06 Rigby, and 375h&h, I think the .375 tastes just right. Been liquidating my safe to reflect just this reality.

And yes - your better 1/2 sounds like a keeper for sure!
