    Sighting in double rifle

I’d zero for the first shot. That’s always the most important one. However, I don’t think it’ll make much difference which ever way you go.

Please help me to define this

I’d say free range. Years ago I used to cull/hunt on the place in the photo. Would you describe this island as fenced or unfenced?

How to define a bad hunt?

I reckon if everyone comes home in one piece and well then it’s been a good hunt. I’ve had a couple of hunts that were memorable for every thing that went wrong. But, whilst it didn’t always seem so at the time, they were adventurers that I can now look back on with fondness. Character...

I’m yet to have a bad one.

Africa...when will you be priced out??

It is what it is. Prices reflect demand. It’s as simple as that. If you want it to happen then you just have to make it happen. I’m a Baby Boomer, I got to see the last few weeks of the 50’s. I’ve spent most of my life in law enforcement. I’m not rich but I’ve never gone hungry. I live in...

    Price Increase Question

I had a completely opposite experience with a Canadian outfit. Had a BC moose hunt booked for 2020. I couldn’t get there until 2023 because of the Canadian government COVID restrictions, which were more stringent for those of us who aren’t North American. They were absolutely brilliant to...

What are your thoughts on the following rifles?

You bought them. So I’m guessing you like them. That’s all that matters. I’d happily hunt with the Ruger and Zasty. Don’t know the others.

Many cheap hunts vs only one very expensive premium hunt in a lifetime

WA is a lost cause. I shot/hunted/culled donkeys over for a few weeks around 40 years ago. It was hard back then. I’d suggest closer to impossible now. I went there for a shooting competition last year. Getting permits to shoot rifles at a National championship was complicated. It’s easier to...

Many cheap hunts vs only one very expensive premium hunt in a lifetime

I’m Queenslander born and bred. There’s some fantastic hunting here but you’re going to need private land access. Access can be easy or hard. A lot will depend upon where you move to and what you do for a living. If I was going to move somewhere else in Australia….there are only two options...

Many cheap hunts vs only one very expensive premium hunt in a lifetime

That’s pretty true. Most Australians don’t realise what hunting opportunities we have. And just how vast and empty Australia is. Even on the East coast. I guess the other man’s grass is always greener. Until you try walking on the lawn.
