Depends on distance, sights, and speed of shot. Low mag/irons, quick shot, and/or close distance is naturally both eyes open. Higher mag, drawing a fine bead, and/or concentrating on a precision shot I'll be using just one eye.

Although my experience doesn't extend beyond N America, I've nothing but good experiences with the 162 hornady AMAX bullets at 7x57 velocities. IF the twist rate of your .280's rifling will handle it, maybe step up to the 180gr ELDM bullet?

That's an easy answer. Without hesitation or reservation, 7x57. The harder choices are barrel length, open sight/scope and stock configurations.

No room for safe queens

I use an ultra mount and swap between 3 different presses. Works fantastic. I also use a dozen or so of his other products on my reloading bench. Very satisfied.
