I have no experience with that animal. I hear they are tough and some say part of that "toughness" reputation is because some hunters who hunt Deer for the most part go for the crease behind the leg, thinking the vitals are there but the vitals are further forward. Or it could be a combination...

    25-06 or 257 Wby?

Your choices make good sense. The Ruger is blue and Walnut, the forearm has nice figure, the Butt stock is average. The older Red Pad Number 1's on average had better wood but usually were not as accurate as the recent version. I bought a very nice buttstock but may save it for a third Number 1.

Nilgai Jan-Feb 2027. Would like to go to Africa in the next 2 years if possible. The later part of that...

    25-06 or 257 Wby?

It took me almost 2 years to get a Lipsey .257Wea Number 1, but worth the wait! I think if you are hard headed and persistent like me, you will find one. I also have a Lipsey .264WM, unlike Number 1's I worked with in the past, these are quite accurate, esp. the 257. The 257 is as devasting as...

I will be hunting free range Nilgai Jan 2027. I know that this is more than needed for Nilgai but I wanted to see how the LRX worked on Buffalo...

Hello all I found this forum in the process of looking for 270gr LRX loads for my Guide Gun. I live in AR where the delta meets the Ozarks. I am retired from heavy Industrial Eq. sales, I am looking forward to being a part of this forum. Thanks
