    On lever's and pump actions

I wonder how an 1895 action would handle a rebated cartridge. I have a 416 wildcat I’ve been working on using the 338 Weatherby rpm case. Case capacity would be the same as a 416 Taylor.

What are the most EFFICIENT rifle cartridges?

I remember seeing an interview with John Lazzeroni where he described his 30 cal short magnum based on the rigby case. He seamed to think the short fat case created a sort of combustion chamber so not all the powder had to be burned down the bore.

What are the most EFFICIENT rifle cartridges?

I agree 100 % that it’s all in the powder. With modern powder the playing fields between magnums/ultra magnums and standard cartridges has been almost leveled. It simply comes down to the psychological aspect.

What are the most EFFICIENT rifle cartridges?

My 7x57 Ai gets 2800 fps with 175gn a partition over 50.5gns of powder, that’s close enough to factory rem mag. I’m sure the 280 Ai can pick up some speed on that.

What new Ruger would you like to see in a limited special run?

Not a limited run but I’d like to see ruger re-release the RSM in 416 & 450 Rigby

What are the most EFFICIENT rifle cartridges?

I have a 35 Brown-Whelen I’m hopefully going to start playing with when the weather is warmer, essentially a 280 ai necked up to 35. It’s supposed to push the same bullets as the Whelen 200 or 300 fps faster, we’ll see.

What are the most EFFICIENT rifle cartridges?

7x57 Ai, I’ve always understand efficiency” of a cartridge as getting the most velocity while not being overbore.

    416 Taylor loads

I contacted Nosler a couple months ago about 500gn .458 partitions, they said they were in the middle of setting up a new facility and would start making them again then.

    School me on M98 actions

I would not look away from a crf model 70 action, if you keep an eye out you may find one for cheaper than you could buy a M98 and have wing safety fitted.

    School me on M98 actions

I may be wrong but I believe 1909 Argentine actions are held in high regard, I have a full custom 7x57 Ai I build on one and it it a fine rifle. I also have a 220 wby rocket heavy varmint gun I built on an fn action with a Palma barrel that is very accurate.

Which Calibre Should Be Consigned to the Grave

Boy it would take a lot to upset the 30-30’s hold on the title of “greatest deer cartridge” up here in Maine. It’s held in the highest regard by many, some I’m not sure have ever owned one. Though now it’s getting priced out being hard to find and more expensive than 30-06 many don’t consider...

Best Big Bore Bolt Action Gunsmith in US

I had Randy re-barrel a model 70 for me, he’s great to deal with. And the wait wasn’t terrible.
