I live in South Africa and hunt with a 338 Sabi, which is essentially a 338-06.
I shot an eland bull with a 220 grain Peregrine VRG4 last year with no issues

I hunt with a 338 Sabi, which is basically the same thing and use Peregrine 220 grain VRG4 bullets with a muzzle velocity of 2,550 fps.
In the 12 or so years I have been hunting with it here in South Africa I have hunted a multiple species with one shot kills out to 300 metres.
You misinterpret my post.
I am not disparaging either outfitter, I was simply posted the article so that Redfish64 could read what was reported on the matter in that it was the Rural District Council official who was implicated in the wrongdoing.
