    RSA via private jet

I am a corporate pilot and will be flying a trip in January 2026 to Cape Town for 14 days. The routing will most likely be US-London-Cape Town. I have hunted Limpopo in 2024, airlining into Johannesburg. Two questions for you all and thanks in advance: 1. Hunting opportunities near Cape Town in...

What bolt action rifle do you regret buying

I hate to say it, and I’m honestly not being a fan or anything…. I have rifles from several of the manufacturers listed. Of those, I have two Christensen Ridgelines in 6.5 CM. Both shoot factory Hornady Precision Hunter 143 ELD-X at sub 1/2 MOA and function well. Good enough that I don’t bother...

    McBride’s Guns - Austin, TX

I visited McBride’s recently. It had been a while since I stopped in, maybe a year. Was very surprised to see the shelves and gun racks fairly bare. My usual contact behind the counter said the business was for sale and prospects didn’t look good. I was born and raised in Austin. My dad went...

My son is in the field as we speak. Unfortunately, work calls (on Labor Day!) so I'm unable to join.

New Model 70 safari express disappointing quality?

I recently got a Portuguese Safari Express in 375. So far, no problems in 40 rounds. Fit, finish and function are fine.

    .375 H&H for the Win!

I assume that’s the Talley mount for your RMR? Just ordered one for my Safari Express and am eager to try it.

    Hello from Texas

Funny enough, my first time to Africa was with my brother-in-law. Now planning the next trip. I guarantee it will be a great experience for you, even on a limited budget. Good luck. Mark Austin, TX

What do you carry your ammo in when on safari?

Can’t beat Murray Leather. Murray belt, C2 slide and Leatherman pouch. Made in Texas. Dick is a great guy.
