Take a picture of the action like the one I posted. I'm sure it's an ejector because it has separate extractors for each barrel. Also has bushed strikers, three folding leaf sights, and front single set trigger. Outschar made some awesome double rifles over the years. Tim Sundles of Buffalo Bore...

The Ferlach proof is most likely on the action. The last two numbers after decimal being year made. I'm betting around 1970.

It also has a JO in a circle. Johann Outschar.

It was made by Outschar with number 35.

This one is identical. No markings. It's strange because all Ferlach Makers have their own number and its marked on the action and barrels. This is the only one that doesnt that I've seen. This was a 458 made in 1968 and later converted to 450 Nitro 3 1/4", and sold a few years back for $9500.

When the bolt is pulled back the bolt stop engages the pin and the bolt continues back a short distance. Stronger system because there isn't a slot cut in the bolt face for an extractor on the action. This is a 416 Rigby and were made up to 600 Nitro Express. Never seen one in 404 Jeffery until now.

Byron Burgess did a lot of engraving for California Rigby, which used Reimer Johannsen and Dakota actions for magazine rifles. The one pictured belonged to vette47. The writeup is in Africa Hunting somewhere.

So if taking too much metal off the original collar is an issue then why don't they use the second barrels collar for the third and so on down the line?
