Good job on the comb. Grain is a match. I wonder if the comb was lowered instead of raised. Not a criticism at all. I have a low comb stock that is very nice and a high comb stock that is not so nice for pre 64. Been thinken about trying this for a Model 70 pre 64 in 280 AI.
Good luck with...

All good stuff here. I watched the podcast on the 6.5 Swede using Reloader 16
Am seriously considering the APEX program. Been a while since I loaded this cartridge. Found a load that worked and went from there. With all the hoopla with the Creedmoor I am tempted to get the AV out and go shoot...
P. S. It's time for me to move into the 21 Century realm of handloading. I think I will order this APEX program. Any advice is appreciated!! It would have saved lots of time and components coming up with a load for the 338 06 using Hammers or Cutting Edge bullets. $35 bucks doesn't buy a box...
The link I sent you was the SKAN version page. Just drop back to the Mauser version on the caliber page You can compare the two side by side and choose what works best for you. Unfortunately no 156 gr listings. One of the computer programs may be the answer. Good luck and good shooting!
There you have it! The modern(efficient) way to get load data!
Here are some of my results the old fashioned way.

Lapua BRASS
130 gr ACCUBOND IMR 4350 47 gr 2850 8 SD*

You could try something like Quick load or one of the products where you plug in the bullet and powders you would like to try. Set your pressure level to 55,000 if that is your goal and they will spit out load data. I have never used them. Many people do.
The Creedmoor is popular. It fits in...
Go on Lapua.com Look at 6.5 x 55 Swedish Mauser then scroll up to 6.5 x 55 SKAN
You can compare the two and go from there. I have AV Sako marked SKAN.
Bought it in England about 30 yrs ago at Game Fair. Never heard of it but it was Sako and beautiful. How bad could it be. Got brass. Loaded mid...
I think it is great that government regulation is rolled back and human rights prevail. Especially hunters! I support this politically as a citizen of this great country, as a hunter, and gun owner.
Full disclosure: Silencers make perfect sense for multiple reasons. I just don't want one. But I...
I am in the group that always thought the 30 06 was king. It seemed as far as you could go until stepping into magnum territory which I also did. My experience with the .308 came by accident. I stumbled on an 88 Winchester in some gunshop and to have it. I loaded with 150 gr bullets to get the...
Well folks,
This is an interesting thread! I speak as an unapologetic boomer. Not enough hair left for a "man bun'' but everything else is working fine. I was hunting deer with the son of a friend of mine. He had, the latest and greatest, 6'5 Creedmoor. Very proud of it. I handed him my AV Sako...
