    I am looking seriously at a nice early Dakota Model 10 built by Don Allen. It is in great condition. Very svelte package with a light contour barrel. Nice but not exhibition wood and matte finish. Nothing overly fancy…just classy and chambered in 6.5x57. I can’t find any recent sold...

    I guess the question would be....why not just run the .400 Whelen as-is and not mess with the rimmed brass since the action is aleady set-up to feed non-rimmed .30-06 based cases? Or do you already have a .405 Winchester you are looking to modify?
