Very proud dad today! Oklahoma rifle season opened this morning. My little girl hunted hard last year but didn’t connect. An hour and a half in this morning and she put a perfect shot on this nice buck. Might be tough for her to beat her first deer.

My last trip over I was encouraged at bag check to have my luggage wrapped in JoBerg. I declined and got home to a a suitcase that had been rummaged through and both my leather rifle slings were gone. Only bad instance I have had.

As lots have already said, don't bet on it being one trip. It gets in your blood. But for this one, if you are dead set on Waterbuck (a good choice), I would add a Kudu for sure and that is going to crowd your $5,000 with those two. But I would definitely take a good Impala- they are not...

I got the same ones last summer. I haven't used them much but they definitely helped me hear my daughter's whispers in a deer blind and still muffled the shot when she fired. I tried them in the duck blind but haven't figured out how to wear them under a warm hat. The cloth rubbing on my ears...
