Hi my gunsmith said kieghoff specify a certain toque for screws to not change point of impact. Must be tight as I undid mine on the 470 to put red dot in off my Merkel 450/400. And the screws were bloody tight. Broke a t15 torque Wrench getting dovetail piece off.

I find the 9.3 to have a sharper recoil than the 375, it’s more of a push. Stands to reason 9.3 uses faster powder. But less powder so it’s cheaper to reload than the 375.

Wow ok. I think the 9.3 can be great with good bullets. The prob is I used one in Africa and the factory bullets were rubbish. Load 270 gr Woodliegh and much better combo. Not as much frontal penetration as 375. It’s much like 338 though. Great Plains game. Used a lot less powder than HH. And...

Can’t it’s on warranty so this is the importer dealer. They are the one talking to Merkel in Germany. The gunsmith at Mials gun shop is looking at making a part to stop the problem. Merkel say only pull front trigger 1st. Obviously they don’t know in the field u may have soft or solid choice. Grrrr.

It’s at 19 months now at Gunshop waiting repairs. This was after 12 months of emails. Useless I wish I had only bought my 470 Krieghoff. Which I bought after this problem developed with the Merkel.

Wen guiding I may have to shoot either a solid or soft depending on situation so both barrels need to be an option.

Agreed not much difference. I bought the 500 first. But decided to get a Krieghoff because the de-cocking feature made it safer wen guiding in thick bush. I have a 450/400 Merkel as well it’s the most recent addition, it seems very effective with good Bullets, I can fire faster follow up shots...
