I have actually heard that point of view and I believe if you ask Google it will say SS is not a ponzi because it is a legal government program. I will agree there is transparency, which is why we know it isn't sustainable in its current form.

The issue is it is operated as a ponzi scheme. As someone who has also paided the max for the better part of my career, I am planning as if this is will be completely insolvent in the future.

I am seeing a few more cancellations than usual. I was at the Outer Banks ans they said fishing charters are down. The property manager said they are seeing more 5 day stays instead of the usual 7 days. So I think there is a little belt tightening but people aren't necessarily stopping.

I heard that it is being reworked, saying they will target land that is within 5 miles of a population center and a few other stipulations. I think the bigger risk is the precedent it sets, 5 miles today, 5 miles from a state maintained road tomorrow. Much easier to tweak a law, than to get...
