    Questions on Cutting edge bullets.

A Buddy I load for has taken 5 cape buffalo and a 60 pound elephant with very light for caliber 458 Raptors and solids at 2150fps. Not all bullets recovered. In a double 450 NE.

THAT'S AFRICA SAFARI - Management Buffalo Hunt South Africa 2027

I may be interested if there is the possibility of getting a very old worn down buffalo. The older and more worn down the better. Also, this is listed as Management, is it exportable? Will you be in Nashville at the SCI?

    Greater Kruger Buffalo Hunt

Does this Hunt also include the hippo? If so, is it possible to hunt them on dryland?

Small and fast or big and slow?

my one and only Eland was a very large old mature bull, 1800 pounds or so. I shot him in the throat at 125 yards with a 416 Rigby, 400 grain Barnes TSX, going 2400 ft./s. The bull ran 125 yards and fell over dead. The bullet was recovered in his liver. By all accounts, he took every foot pound...

European Styled Sporting Rifles in the US?

I am going to post this without having read the previous four pages. My vote is for the CZ 600 Lux in 30/06. I own two of that model in 223. Never intended to own the second one, but loved the first one so much I have a thermal on one and a daytime optic on the other. Best, most innovative, new...

Any chance of a scrum cap or at least an exceptionally worn down bull?

    9.3x62 Cutting Edge 200gr Raptor?

Would start with 35 Whelen load data. Going up in bullet diameter will reduce the pressure.

Turn of century Rigby Mauser .275

They didn’t call those Husky 96 Mauser’s the poor man’s Rigby for no reason! At 20 yards and 20 miles an hour my 46 in 9.3x57. Looks like an early Rigby!

    Barnes TSX?

Don’t forget, that because they are homogenous, they do not compress well when entering the rifling. Therefore, you need to give them a minimum of .050” jump to the lands when loading. Depending on magazine box length, I have jumped them as far as .100”before and still maintained excellent...

Comment by 'Lance Hopper' in media 'Range Shots'

Breaking in a barrel is the biggest hoax ever perpetrated on the man. I’ve shot more new barrels and burned out more barrels than the top 99 percentile. I have formed this opinion after breaking in a bunch and not breaking in a bunch and seeing absolutely zero difference. This opinion was formed...

Easiest Way to make 458 Winchester Brass?

I’ve never reamed any 458 Lott, 375H&H, or 416 Remington Magnum brass once cut to 458 length. Never found it necessary.

Easiest Way to make 458 Winchester Brass?

375H&H or 416RM necked up and trimmed works well if you can’t find brass. Either of these is usually cheaper and easier to find than 458 Winchester or the Lott option.
