A Buddy I load for has taken 5 cape buffalo and a 60 pound elephant with very light for caliber 458 Raptors and solids at 2150fps. Not all bullets recovered. In a double 450 NE.

I may be interested if there is the possibility of getting a very old worn down buffalo. The older and more worn down the better. Also, this is listed as Management, is it exportable? Will you be in Nashville at the SCI?

Does this Hunt also include the hippo? If so, is it possible to hunt them on dryland?

Would start with 35 Whelen load data. Going up in bullet diameter will reduce the pressure.

I’ve never reamed any 458 Lott, 375H&H, or 416 Remington Magnum brass once cut to 458 length. Never found it necessary.

375H&H or 416RM necked up and trimmed works well if you can’t find brass. Either of these is usually cheaper and easier to find than 458 Winchester or the Lott option.
