Hmm… guess how you define lethal. Actually lethal tally may be the Sheridan Bluestreak 5mm air rifle already mentioned. Second would be the Beretta S2 for doves, pheasant. Potentially most lethal, it would be the FN 249 Para.

Learned that PH was the UK importer for Norma. Two things now make sense - why the PH offering of 308 Norma mag rifles and their 300 Win rifles not being regulated with Norma ammo.

Sorry, but any chance this is a PH 404 take off barrel that’s been re-barreled on a different receiver? I’m sure there are more than one variant, but looking at differences in the receivers, safety, proof marks, made me pause.

I have one that’s been restocked. Feeds well, accurate, and is regulated to the sights. Currently weighs 8lbs14oz. Only complaint is it’s 3+0. Holds three down but will only feed from the magazine. I think you would be happy with it. Best of luck.

I think that you’ll like the 28. The key is to find one that fits. Many of these look great in the shop, but don’t feel right in the field. You’ll find both extremes, heavy on a 12 or 20 frame or flyweight that swings poorly. If a 28 can’t fill the roll, I jump to a 16. That or a Two-inch 12...

Once you have the photos, it would be interesting to see if the seller is calling it a rimless 577NE based on the head stamp or if it was used as a parent case.

If the “rimless” is the Wells/GMA, then it’s not rebated and takes the same shell holder as the 505.

Thanks for bringing these back in! Now if we only had a source for Bertram brass…

5744 would be a great powder for this application as no filler is required. I would worry about filler getting snagged up in the baffles, building up over rounds. I know it’s obvious but work up the loads without the suppressor in place to be sure bullets aren’t keyholing. I’ve seen someone...
