Your opinion on the Sako 85

I would like a SAKO 85 carbonlihht .308 WIN. with small quarter-rib and a fixed, "v" blade rear sight and a ramp front bead-type sight for stdby to a Leupold 1.5x5 var. optic with q/d rings. Otherwise the carbonlight config.

    Source for 7mm Solids

Barnes made them, but there were no riding rings much of 175 gr bullet shank rode the rifling, pressure and wear. But not doing target work would limit negative factors. I drove them at moderate velocity and they penetrated straight. 7x57 M/Schoenauer.

    Source for 7mm Solids

I found and used true monolithic .284" (7mm) 175 gr 25 yrs ago---but (rats) cannot recal source except it was US maker Barnes, Hornady, Nosler...doubt Speer, Sierra, Berger.

RE: FIREARMS FOR A FARMER IN TANZANIA

Absolutely! Presently I arrived from Canada and left my rifles behind. So, I need to find the regulations regarding use of firearms by non-citizen residents. I have no inclination to trophy hunt, however I would like to find if hunting for meat may be allowed (PG as well as fowl). Also, if...

RE: FIREARMS FOR A FARMER IN TANZANIA

ThT m Akes sense. I wonder about a 12ga over a 30/30, 7.62x54R, or 5.6x52R I had at one time a Zoli 12ga over 22 hi-power(5.6×52R) and wish I had kept it. But maybe, like most compromises, they nake neither a good rifle or a good shotgun. Kind of like an amphibian aircraft is not a great...
