Wow, I'm touched by all the responses and the thought that went into them. I asked Maynard to pose with the new (to me) Chapuis. The rifle came with Picatinny mounts so I imagine the previous owner used a scope. It was regulated with DGX ammo which it likes. I have a couple of boxes of 400 grain...

So, I just got a Chapuis Elan in 450-400 3" NE and would like to work up a load using Barnes TSX 400 grain bullets. Load data is scarce to none. I have H4831 and H4831SC on hand and wonder if anyone else has already invented this particular wheel. Any help is much appreciated.

I hunted buffalo with P.H.s Wayne and James at this camp a few months ago. P.H.s are top notch, meals were amazing, staff worked long, hard days to make a memorable hunt. Already booked for 2028.
