    Importing Elephant - CITES

Looking for recent experiences and recommendations with respect to using one of the following to assist with preparing CITES application and importing tusks and related trophies: Safari Specialty Importers, Conservation Force, or another?

Refining Bullet Selection for Croc Hunt

That’s very impressive. Sounds like I need to decide between the Raptor and the TSX based on all the responses on this thread.

Refining Bullet Selection for Croc Hunt

I hope to get a dinosaur at Cahora Bassa next year and I’m currently working up loads for a 378 WM, but I’m going to load it so it’s closer to a 375 H&H to avoid obliterating the head. I would appreciate any thoughts or opinions on using Barnes TSX 300 grain versus Cutting Edge DGS 300 grain

    Harassment From Anti Hunting Group

I’d try to get the identities of those who posted your images and photos and sue them for copyright infringement, misappropriation of name and likeness, etc.

.458 Lott too much for North American Big game?

You're probably better off sticking with the 375 or maybe get 416 if you want something a little bigger just for fun--but if you get a 458 Lott--you gotta hunt buff etc. in Africa and maybe consider a 460 Weatherby loaded somewhere between the Lott and Weatherby factory load.

    Dallas Area Gunsmith

Looking for recommendations on a gunsmith in the DFW area--preferably closer to the north of Dallas/Plano/Allen area to mount express sights, re-blue, and glass bed a rifle or two.

    Reloading 460 Weatherby Magnum

I've used CCI 250 exclusively (as I couldn't find any Federal 215) with both my 460 Weatherby and 340 Weatherby with zeros issues working up loads and practicing last summer (100s of rounds), as well as taking bull elephant, rhino, buff, and a good deal of plains game last fall. Going to start...

Bullet Selection for 378 WM on Croc Hunt

Bullet Selection for 378 WM on Croc Hunt

Crocs are larger and I’d expect their skulls to be a thicker

Bullet Selection for 378 WM on Croc Hunt

I’ve never had any issue with Barnes in my 340 or 460 as Barnes TSX operate better at higher velocities, and was hoping to go for a neck shot, but it sounds like neck is not ideal and the last thing I want is for this thing to flop into the river and be an expensive loss. So brain shot it is….

Bullet Selection for 378 WM on Croc Hunt

Roger that. I was wanting to bring one rifle that I could use in case we “accidentally” run into a buff since you can never have too many buff, but the primary focus is a large croc and a handful of plains game. My alternative is to bring a 7mm mag or 340 Weatherby. But seems like a 250 grain...

Cutting Edge Bullets For Large Dangerous Game

I took the elephant in my profile pic with the 500 grain CE DG solid on the left in this pic (removed from the skull). I've also taken hippo with a 450 grain CE DG solid. Great bullet. The Barnes TSX 500 grain in the middle of the pic took a buff at 80 yards, and the Barnes TSX 450 grain on the...
