I’ve been seriously tempted by a Mannlicher schoenauer Gk lately, I hear nothing but good things. I’d like to have QR rings for it so the kids can shoot too but that seems like a task and a half to find.
As a knife collector I’ve shipped or received maybe 30 to 40 knives from or to the states.
So far I’ve never had one lost, although one did take 3 months to turn up. My suggestion is always to call it something other than knife e.g. “woodworking tools”, “gardening tools” or “forestry tools”...

I chased them when I visited the UK with my wife nearly a decade ago. I had one day to myself and I tossed up between visiting Rigby or going hunting, decided on the latter. Ended up raining most of the day and when it stopped the wind...
It's great to get the different perspectives and there was/is certainly no loaded nature to this thread. I'm genuinely interested to hear about people's own experiences.

I've had guns I bought, hated and lost money on e.g. Sauer 202 Classix XT. Guns I loved and sold and lost money e.g. Sako Bavarian 85 in 300WM, Pedersoli rocky mountain hawken .54.
