Side question to all of you No.1 guys: What sorts of groups do you expect a No.1 to reliably produce?
I have a No.1 in .30-06, and it's so-so, and really sort of picky. I plan to spend some time this spring reloading to find a "best fit," but so far I'm lucky at about 1.5" groups @ 100 yards.

I'm excited to have these conversations with PHs as we discuss our hunt. I suspect we'll have a great time, and, if we leave wanting more adventure, well, that's just reason to return.

I'm planning a first safari, and I may be giving in to preconceived notions about "ranch hunts." How challenging can an East Cape hunt be? What are some reasonable expectations?

I see there are several places in Johannesburg that cater to hunters for stays pre- and post-hunt.
I think we’d sure like that … a chance to “catch up” and fuel up.
Give me the ups and downs of some of these. What’s good, what’s unnecessary, etc.
I see you can’t take lever action rifles to South Africa. Too bad, since I have a Winchester 1895 that I’d love to bring.
