Day starts as normal with us leaving the tent at first light. As with every morning when we get closer to the beach (only 200 yards from the tent) Mike uses his binoculars to take a quick look around before we move to the lookout. But this time is different, he says "I see a bear"...

Got to the ridge and saw one bear in the delta, Mike stated it was a small sow so we just kept looking. The game plan was to sit at the glassing spot every day until we see a shooter bear. If you walk around too much you just leave human scent everywhere and the bears will just...

We get up at 7 (doesn't get light till 830), have some coffee and breakfast. At this point Mike tells me “We can't go to the creek and look for bears". I was bummed and asked him "why not"? He said, "the salmon creek is on the other side of the ridge, we need to stay out, going in...

My alarm goes off at 3:45 am. I live in Portland Oregon and I board a fight at 630am leaving for Anchorage Alaska. Let’s back up a little. I never really thought I would be going on a Brown bear hunt, I felt they were too expensive and low success rate. About 6 months ago I was...
It gets a little complicated but powder shortage is one issue. Both bullets shoot well with the H4350 but I get much more velocity with the RL17. I have about 1/3 lb of the H4350 which gets me 2400 fps with compressed load. RL17 ( 1/2 lb left) gets great velocity and with A-Frame loaded to...
I hunted with a PH in Limpopo (I hunted the whole trip with his 375H&H) that was crimping his A-Frames and stated that his bullets in the magazine were moving and crimp was necessary. I thought maybe the hard recoil was the cause. Do you not have this problem? I would love to load them...
Thanks for your thoughts! I will be hunting a reserve area on the Alaska Peninsula. There should be lots of bear feeding on salmon in the creeks (that's what the outfitter tells me?) and shot distance should be under 200. I want the rifle dialed at longer distance for any follow up shots that...
Thanks for the reply. The attached picture just shows an example of what I keep getting. I have close to 100 rounds through this gun and the A-Frame is almost always a much larger group.
Broke in my new 375 H&H and then started looking for a good load for Brown bear, hunt is 1 month away. I am a big fan a Accubond but for dangerous game I want to hunt with A-Frames. After working up several loads with both brands I found the Accubond shoots much better. Typicaly the Nosler...
