This stock was just finished in Timberluxe only, no stain. It’s my pre64 model 70 my gunsmith converted to 400 H&H. The pics are not that great and I need to take some outside with some good light. The stock is from Richards Microfits that required much work.

I agree. I think they grade about 1 grade over what most places would grade them and i went in expecting about a AAA stock when I ordered exhibition grade. But if your willing to do the work, the price is reasonable.

I spent just under 700 for a Richards exhibition grade english walnut stock for a 400 H&H I'm putting together. If you go that route, plan on lots of sanding. Besides the finish inletting the outside of the stock has lots of extra wood to bring it down to your specs.

I use barrel plugs I bought from MidwayUSA just for that purpose.
