Love mine in .416 Rigby. So much so that I'm getting ready to follow that up with one in 375H&H then another in .458 Lott.

Good advice. I have always practiced working a bolt gun from the shoulder and doing so feels second nature to me. The longer bolt throw of the 550 Magnum doesn’t really feel that long to me when working the action. My dummy (and real) rounds load , extract and eject flawlessly. I expected some...

I’m chiming in a little (okay a lot late) on this one but would be interested in your view on the rifle now. Have you taken it out of the stock? Does Kimber use manufacturing shortcuts you wouldn’t expect on a rifle in this price range? The feed lips...are they part of the receiver or stamped...

I am thoroughly impressed with my CZ 550 American in .416 Rigby. Enough so that I'm going to get another in .375H&H. It just fits me well and is comfortable to shoot. Well as comfortable as a .416 Rigby can be anyway.

All this gives me food for thought on loading my new .416 Rigby. Also was wondering if the action was going to be too long for the Leupold VXIII 1.5x5 and can see from the picture it fits just fine. Glad to see that. Now to get out and shoot it....

Thank you all for the nice responses! Picked up the rifle today and do believe that I am in love! Also arriving today were my dies and shell holders. I have some ammo arriving Wednesday so should be able to take it out to the range next week. The one main problem I have found with this rifle...

I just found this site and was really happy such a source of information from people who have “been there, done that” exists. Tomorrow I’m picking up my CZ 550 American Safari in .416 Rigby and am looking forward to developing loads for it.
