Can confirm as that email was written to me.
No idea about other chapuis - mine was bought used and I cant see any markings about model apart from 'progress' on the foreend
My enquiry added for context:
Thats why i like the ReSet system $170 shipped from amazon and as you can buy the case used, and then change scopes/rifles/accessories/layout as much as you like.
As to earlier worries about touching the plastic grid. No chance of that whatsoever...
I'm Idiot101 and I endorse this message
I got it for my 1700 ahead of a shooting trip to france in January and found it to be excellent.
As another compulsive tinkerer i'm planning to have another grid cut with a big square void in it by a local plastics company so i have a deeper storage...
I agree with the advice to lay out your kit and measure it.
I have the Peli 1700 and that takes the double, or the shotguns but the pistolgrip on the rifle means it won't take one of each.
AS a related point i love the pelican RE-SET system
Just reading some older double posts and came across this. I emailed Chapuis about a stiff break and cocking with my new (second hand) Chapuis and they got back to me saying to break it by dry firing but not to use snapcaps. I'd suggest if you've got a newer double to check with the manufacturer.

Also a new reloader (still getting things together before I start) and would love to chuck a couple of questions into the mix.
How important is case trimming for a double rifle (9.3x74r)?
Is a Lee autodisk powder dispenser 'good enough' or do I need to measure the charges on a scale as well?
As a scotsman I think there are roughly 5 million greater scotsmen and a great many better hotel recommendations which are actually within a few hours of stalking

Specifications as follows:

ah something in my wheelhouse. Born and brought up in the west highlands of Scotland and have stalked all over probably 6 times a year since birth.
For my money it has to be lochaber or the coast north of there especially if you're reletively fit (as it usually starts with three hours walking...
