Question on the phrase “I hire myself to look after it.” Is that a simply your word choice indicating you take care of your own land or are you using some legal structure/accounting positioning? I’m in a very similar situation in VA and wondering if I’m missing a way to keep more of my own...

Saw this thread before the morning started in earnest. I stopped what I was doing and planning, topped up the coffee mug and am settling in for what promises to be a most entertaining read. Not two days old and 6 pages! I can’t wait.
