Leica Ultravid 7x42 HD+ (Plus) Mint Condition

Have a 2 week old pair of **pristine** Leica Ultravid 7x42 HD+ up for grabs. Comes with the original pouch, neck straps, lens covers, cleaning cloth, manual & paper work. I'm asking for $1700 USD. Free shipping (worldwide) with DHL. These were manufactured in late 2021, and have the latest...

Expression Of Interest Leica Magnus (i) 1.5-10x42 (Rail Mount)

Leica Magnus 1.5-10x42 (illuminated L-4A reticle), with integrated rail. I've got this scope on the way. Should be another 2-3 weeks. This thread is to simply gauge whether there's any interest out there. If anyone's keen on it, I can hold it for you until I'm able to supply photos of the...

    Wanted Leupold VX3/3i 1.5-5x20

Looking for one in close to mint condition. Lenses must be perfect. They're hard to find here in New Zealand at the moment, so I'm prepared to pay whatever you paid for it when it was bought new. Not interested in the latest 'HD' model with the CDS turret on top. Cheers.

    Wanted Lightweight Low Magnification Scope

After a lightweight, low-magnification scope (no more than 6x). Can be either variable or fixed power. A Leupold VX3 1.5-5x20 would be ideal!! Must be in very good to mint condition with immaculate glass. Cheers.

    Reliability of single-shot rifles

Thanks for all the suggestions and insights. I ended up purchasing a Merkel K5 in .308, with a Leica Magnus 1.5-10x42 (rail mount). Shoots very well and is nice to carry (especially without a scope mounted on top - which can make these light Kipplaufs quite top-heavy, and reduces your ability...

    Micklagaard clothing Sweden

I've been using this stuff in New Zealand. Been on 100-200km hikes in driving wind and strong wind. Just brilliant clothing, through and through. Old world craftsmanship, style, and performance rolled into one. Their 'Vadmal' fabric is pretty special. It consists of 80% silicon-impregnated...

    Quality straight tube scope

I like straight tubes (can mount them lower, and the lack of a large objective bell means less chance of concussions). Swinging between the Swarovski Z8i 1-8x24 and the Schmidt Bender Exos 1-8x24. Would the S&B be more durable (take the knocks better)? How do they compare glass-wise? I...

    Reliability of single-shot rifles

Yeah, but those straight stocks are rubbish with iron sights. Isn't that what the hogsback stocks were designed for?

Gue Which sort of design do you prefer?

    Reliability of single-shot rifles

I've got a budget of approx £6000.00/$8000.00 USD (excluding glass - I'm already sorted in that department). I've had a look at the Blaser K95 synthetic - not fond of the stock. Looks ghastly in my opinion, but I'm a traditionalist. Same story with the carbon stock. Looks very odd, and the...

    Reliability of single-shot rifles

Thanks - some useful info. Are the Blaser's nitrided? Whereas the Merkels are just blued? Most bolt guns are too heavy and bulky, which is why I'm keen on a single. But because field stripping them is not an option, I'm on the fence with them.

    Reliability of single-shot rifles

Cheers mate. Yes, I understand they're popular rifles for alpine use. But mine will be used as a work-horse, not just a fair weather gun, or for short excursions. Stints in the field will range between a few weeks to months. So a gunsmith, or special tools will not be available. Hence why I'm...

    Reliability of single-shot rifles

Hi everyone, I'm considering purchasing a quality single-shot rifle for bush and alpine hunting in New Zealand. I travel a lot by foot (and occasionally public transport), so I'd like a compact, light-weight rifle that I can break apart and store inside my pack. I'm leaning towards the Merkel...
