Ruger M77 love them or hate them?

Mine is an RSM in .375. It badly needed replacing the trigger with a Timney and after that I like it very much. It shoots well and the recoil is milder than my light deer rifles. A long time buddy has two tang safety rifles. One is in .338 that shoots great. The other is in 7/08 that couldn’t...

    Taking firearm to Canada

Thanks. I have gone through Newark before when taking Newark to Johannesburg. The hard part was finding the place to check a gun. It was only with the unaccompanied children station but the agent was familiar with the process. I was born in Northern Ontario north of Lake Superior and can deal...

    You like giant King Salmon?

Thanks for the post. I was unaware of salmon fishing in Argentina.

    Politics

Agree completely. I enjoy getting into the weeds and often skip over the basics. The original post basically contends that home ownership is an inferior asset to stock ownership. That contention requires predicting the future, something that I try to avoid because I am often surprised.

    Politics

I have taught a lot of financial planners/wealth managers. An economist would look at home ownership as being a landlord to yourself. At the same time you are renting from yourself, which is a consumption decision. The good thing is that you avoid landlord/tenant information asymmetry since you...

    Kudu Pricing?

I took a kudu as an add-on during a Zimbabwe buffalo hunt. It was $1600. No fence concession area.

I have a 280 a 7x57 and a 7-08 but my next rifle will be a 7 PRC so it gets my vote.

    Binoculars image stabilized or non?

I have 14x40 Fujinon stabilized binoculars for my boat to spot far off birds. I have never taken them hunting. They are heavy. The glass is great and the stabilization works great even in rough water.

Alternatives to wired transfers of money

I also use Chase. Wire transfers are complimentary for me and take about 5 minutes at a branch 2 miles from my house. I was thinking about getting the app but have too many apps already.

    Taking firearm to Canada

Was Saskatoon your first stop in Canada. I thought that custom ms would be at the first stop, which in my case is Toronto.

    Taking firearm to Canada

I will be in Saskatchewan in November. The flight is Newark to Toronto to Saskatoon. I presume that customs in Toronto. How long should it take to take a firearm through customs. It would be good to know the necessary layover between flights. I presume that there is not an agency to help for...

Choosing a rifle for a Saskatchewan Bull Moose Hunt - Input Requested

Not to high jack your post but I am going to Saskatchewan in November — Newark to Toronto to Saskatoon. How much time should I leave for customs to process my firearm?? I presume that an agency is not available. I used Gracy for Johannesburg to Zimbabwe and was pleased.

Choosing a rifle for a Saskatchewan Bull Moose Hunt - Input Requested

I grew up in moose country in Ontario north of Lake Superior. I used a 30/06 and so did my father because that was the one rifle we had. We never lost a wounded moose. Several times you would hit one and it would stumble around for a while, maybe even go down and get up again but the second...
