Barnes 400 grain hollow pt. .416 rigby

I shoot the Barnes TSX 400gr and Woodleigh's at 450gr. out of my .416 Rigyb. They both perform exceptionally well. The TSX wouldn't be my first choice for elephant, but I wouldn't think twice about it in a pinch. They penetrate and expand flawlessly.

    460 Weatherby Magnum Scope

RIP your ears, but double up on ear pro with brake. But I would shoot it without a scope... If its bearable try Like Leupold VX6hd 1-6, Ziess V6 or V4, Swarovski i6 or i8. If its not sell it and get something else. I know Burris and Vortex have some long eye relieve scopes for slug guns you...

    416 rigby or 416 remington?

I have taken my 416 Rigby on four trips to Africa. I love the round; it hits hard and shoots flat. (With a 200-yard zero, shooting 300 yards is pretty easy for a larger Plains game.) I have never had extraction issues; my only complaint is that the rifle is rather on the heavy side. After ten...

SOUTH AFRICA: Has Anyone Hunted With Bayete Group?

Hi Guys, I think the Statute of Limitations is up, but yes. Bayete got sideways, and then Covid Killed effectively them, from my understanding. I have worked with all of my clients to recover Trophies, but they pushed me out before it got bad… I lost about $50,000 in commissions and more from...

SOUTH AFRICA: Has Anyone Hunted With Bayete Group?

Hi Guys, They are a great group to work with. The experience was good enough that I started repping their hunts. (Full Disclosure) I am their dangerous game guy. So if you want to take this with a grain of salt feel free, but I am posting this as someone who has gone through the anxiety of...

    Pet peeves?

I hate when you see a hunter who can't even load their own guns, let alone shoot accurately tell you that they stopped a buffalo/lion/hippo charge at 3 feet. I hunted ducks with a guy who did this. (He was the boss of one of my hunting buddies.) (He swore he was a huge hunter, hunts everything...
