Friend of mine has a 6.5 Creedmoor from Christensen arms. Shoots 1/2 moa groups with Hornady 143 ELDX bullets. Leupold VX5 HD scope. Nice combo. Doc Lightning.

Thank you, sir, for an incredible story. Never heard of a professional hunter being hung for perceived dereliction of professional duty, in essence. As a "professional" gun writer, the client was also not using good judgment. Quite a story.

In my old age, I have become a recoil wimp. Took a 7 mm-08 Remington with me to Africa two years ago. Took a nice Kudu, Gemsbok and impala without problem. 140 gr Nosler Accubond. Left my .30-06 home. Kudu: 200 yards, Gemsbok 180 and Impala about 100 .

I am blessed to have both a large elk and nice greater Kudu mounted on my wall. While the elk is great, I think the Kudu is the best of all mounts I have seen.

I have tried Beartooth--a bit bulky, and cumbersome. Having been using "God a Grip" most recently which works well for me.

The point of purchasing the Caldwell Rock was that the forend stop was designed to maintain same rifle position for each shot. And I learned about removing the rifle sling several years ago. Thanks for the comments. TG

I personally shoot a 7mm-08 Remington, custom rifle from Hill Country Rifles, for plains game. 140 grain Trophy Nosler Accubonds. No problems to at least 200 yards. Retired my .30-06----getting to be a recoil wimp in my old age. Doc Lightning
