    Finally got my Landi!

Rare, Ignore all the jealous folks posting rubbish. Landies are great vehicles. If you look at some of my previous posts, we've had a couple of prangs in them, and walked away without a scratch. Like Rover and Brew, we're at 200K miles in a LR3. Sure, some maintenance, but nothing that I...

Why all the 6.5 Creedmoor Hate?

Hey Velo, Fantastic reply! I appreciate the well thought out, articulate nature of it. I agree, I don't typically fall for fads, especially in the firearms arena. I got bit by the 300 Blackout by a friends enthusiasm. Well, in the end I was disappointed, as were a lot of people. We tested...

Why all the 6.5 Creedmoor Hate?

Nope, Just tired of experts saying what they say. Tell me what you've killed with a caliber, and then we can go from there, If you need something greater than .284 to kill anything in the America's, then maybe you should spend more time on the range, But hey, you've got 7 posts, so maybe...

Why all the 6.5 Creedmoor Hate?

Wow. You're pretty sick. Maybe Tylenol or some Mydol?? I have to ask, have you ever shot anything in 6.5CM? If not, you're opinion is simply that. I think Hunter Habib said it best. Our parents didn't like our choices, and we don't like the next generations choices. However, without...

    35 rem loads

Hey Marc, That's creepy. I bought my 336 in probably 1979 or 80, and my 700 MTN rifle (280) in 1986. Still two of my favorites. Go anywhere calibers and rifles.

    Mauser 98 Builds

So, you're missing out, in my opinion. 35REM is a great old cartridge. In fact, if you have a lever action, it's better all around than 30/30. Of course, I may be biased, it was the 1st big game cartridge I purchased, so holds a soft spot where my heart would be. I'd bet it's slain as much...

    Mauser 98 Builds

Hahahaa! Yup! Honestly, I'd probably go 257 Bob, or 257 Weatherby if that were the case. I've learned, I don't need one of every caliber - shocking news, don't tell anyone. There was a time when I thought so. But now, I'm happy to have a good cross spectrum. Or, I could sell the entire...

    Mauser 98 Builds

That looks great! Totally agree, take it and shoot it on your hunt. Let us know how well it did! I have some north of the border friends, and yeah, it's silly the hoops, hurdles, and restrictions. And it's only getting worse. Oddly enough, I found some key parts for my builds in the Maple...

    Mauser 98 Builds

Dang Bob, (Bob Nelson 35Whelen), You were/are on a roll. I feel this was almost like when you were driving trucks, just grabbing another gear, and putting the coal to her! Thanks for all the replies. My quest when I started this project was to rejuvenate a couple of old Mauser actions, then...

Bob Mason, just down the road. Taking them to Shawn T for the bluing.

    Mauser 98 Builds

OK, Just picked them up from the stock maker. My opinion, fantastic work. Didn't go overboard on the grain, but really pretty. Some of the tightest fitting I've seen. The guy is 84 years old, does everyting by hand. Now off to be blued. Also time to reveal the calibers: 300 Savage on one...

    Experience with the 280 Remington

I've got a Remington 700 Mtn Rifle, that I bought back in the late 80's. I shoot Hornary 140gr ELD's out of it, and they are fantastic. Accurate and great knock down power on deer and pigs.

    Prayers for Mark

Hey Mark, Sounds like you are on the mend. Great! That's pretty extreme to get out of hanging Christmas lights though. Respect. Seriously, only sick people are in hospitals, so try to stay out of them. Get your arse healed up and moving.
