    Skulls, it’s not that hard!

I agree our skulls are SOOOO much better and I’d gladly pay for that quality. I don’t think the skull has to be boiled to pass inspection it has to have meat removed and be dry there’s a lot better ways of doing that.

    Skulls, it’s not that hard!

You can literally cut the majority of meat off a skull throw it in a bucket of water and come back in three weeks to clean skull. Now it stinks and there may be some teeth that need glued in but it never needs to be heated. It’s way easier than boiling and the quality is a million times better...

I use maceration and they are perfect and the process requires almost no work but takes longer. It can be done if they were just educated on the process. I’m sure no one would have an issue waiting a few more months to get quality and I would pay more too knowing what I’m getting.

    Skulls, it’s not that hard!

I seen mine delivered salted so I know the condition they were in when they received them. I took video and pics and emailed them they claim they will replace them and agreed they were in very bad shape but plot twist, I opened another one and there were live bugs in it that ran all over the...

These were dip and pack, lower jaws were suppose to be on the giraffe and the zebra. How do you process yours?

    Skulls, it’s not that hard!

This is the right process. Bone does not heat well for long periods. I would’ve waited six months longer to get good skulls. Right now have a few thousands dollars of bone like substance.

They wanted to mount the Euros on plaques I told them I just wanted the skulls not the plaques. Maybe I should’ve been more clear.

    Skulls, it’s not that hard!

How do you process a skull? A skull to me should have ALL the bones, in the case of a giraffe it should have a bottom jaw, it should not be boiled to holy hell, it should still be hard bone not a flaky crumbly mess. I do tons and tons of skulls here, so I know the process I understand what makes...

    Skulls, it’s not that hard!

That’s terrible. I’m going to have to figure out a different situation before I go back. Our clearance and customs here is really not that bad so that’s not an issue here but if it’s in pieces or boiled into powder before if leaves Africa there’s nothing that can be done anyway. There has to be...

    Skulls, it’s not that hard!

why do African Taxidermists have so much trouble processing a skull? I’ve never seen a good one come from Africa they are always missing pieces or broken. I just got mine in and they are all ruined. I now have a several thousand dollar giraffe skull that was boiled for so long you can poke your...

The greatest compliment a hunter could get

Sorry, biologist fly over the ranch in a helicopter and take a count of the deer in the area to determine how many need to be taken to keep the population in control. Our bioligist determined we need to shoot 80 whitetail this year. Which is down from our 120 average but still a lot of shooting.

    Help me with euro mount

Oh and I might add that the peroxide does NOT degrease, it only “bleaches” the grease. It will show itself again in time if its not out of the bone. It can be very difficult to get out in bone that has been boiled. Boiling will often times set it deeper into the bone.
