Haha! Thx. I think all the contributors to this thread have been helpful to me in deciding will I get a drilling - yes - and which one - still deciding. Krieghoff seems more expensive than Markel or Sauer. Thanks everyone.

That's a great idea, wish I thought of it! Basically turns the drilling into a double rifle.

Thought maybe I could hunt whitetail, bear, and coyote with less than full chokes resulting in 3 possible shots, one longer range with the rifle barrel and two close range with slugs through the shotgun barrels. Might be a fun change of pace.

Shame that some, lacking self-awareness, need to denigrate someone else's choice, in of all things, rifle stocks. To each his own.

Am lately buying too many shotguns and rifles but, nonetheless thinking of getting a drilling for the hell of it. I like the looks of some of them, and the 16 gauge over 7x57R seems like a potentially useful combination in PA deer, bear, coyote, pheasant lands. Does anyone here own one who can...

Paul, I completely agree with this. I'm no collector but I have never had a shotgun come up to my shoulder and shoot so naturally as a Westley Richards I recently acquired. It's magic.
