SOUTH AFRICA: MPETI SAFARIS OUTFITTER - Overdue Report Of Our South African Hunt

I feel her pain. I too, loathe spiders.

    Wow. That’s beautiful.

Precision With The Marlin In .30-30 – The Reward For Long Efforts

I was about to suggest checking the Marlin website for a SN# lookup, but I see someone has beaten me to the draw. Good luck.

Precision With The Marlin In .30-30 – The Reward For Long Efforts

No wild pigs, officially. There are occasional reports of sightings and suspected pig damage, but they are not here in any significant number. What’s more, we are prohibited from shooting them, should we encounter them as it is believed that that would only make any theoretical future...

Precision With The Marlin In .30-30 – The Reward For Long Efforts

And it just so happens…although we have no wild boar hunting in Ontario.

Precision With The Marlin In .30-30 – The Reward For Long Efforts

This is the rifle. I do like it; it’s light, compact and easy to handle.

Precision With The Marlin In .30-30 – The Reward For Long Efforts

I have a Marlin in .35 Remington; another often overlooked cartridge. I just settled on a load of 42gr of LeveRevolution behind a 200gr Hornady RN. It shoots a little over an inch to point of aim at 100 yards. As much as I like peep sights, my eyesight just can’t do much with them anymore, so...

Prophet River Firearms: Question for my Canadian friends

    $219 Canadian? That’s like…$1.98 US.

    What did you reload today?

I did a few .308 rounds with 168gr SMKs and 42.4gr of TAC for a Tikka CTR. It’s a rainy day here. If the weather clears tomorrow, I may get to go out and shoot them.

Prophet River Firearms: Question for my Canadian friends

I’ve purchased a pistol among other things from them. 100% legit. I’m not sure what they can or will ship across the border. As someone mentioned above, it’s best to just ask them.

"Getting a little scary here ..."

It’s been a weird kind of twilight zone with the light around here, the past couple of days. The smell of wood smoke is thick in the air, as well.

    Religions, Evolution and related Sciences

Well, the ancient Greeks were right about many things in terms of science and mathematics; I don’t know what they thought about life elsewhere. But, science involves keeping an open mind; which is why SETI exists. Although Steven Hawking thought it might not be a good idea to advertise our...

Southpaws rejoice! The left-handed Lipsey's Ruger Hawkey Alaskan might be available soon...

So, I’ve tried out a few loads. Turns out it’s the 225 Ballistic Tip I have and tried out earlier. So I loaded some up and shot those. None of them grouped well. The 225 Sierra ahead of 67gr of CFE223 was the success story of the day. The grid is 2”X2”. The group is 0.75” centre to centre...

    Religions, Evolution and related Sciences

I’m late to the party and obviously didn’t read all 500+ posts, but, just as someone who is a nobody, with a scientific background I think it pretty anthropocentric to believe that there are no other intelligent civilizations/life forms in the entirety of the infinite vastness of the Universe.

I tried the Accubonds ahead of RL15, BL-C2, and maybe another powder a number of years ago. But, they didn’t shoot well enough, so I stuck with the Inter-locks. But, who knows? Maybe CFE223 will be the charm.
