    Husqvarna 1600/1640

The lightest I could get in a 26" from the manufacturer was a #4 taper. I lightened it a bit on the lathe but it's definitely not a pencil barrel like what originally came on it. I had to widen the barrel channel a bit out near the end for the larger diameter barrel and will probably need to do...

    Husqvarna 1600/1640

Update: the chamber is cut, headspace is good, rounds feed properly and the internal magazine will hold 3 rounds with the chamber empty. It goes bang, so functionally, this Husqvarna is back to life as a 27 Nosler! I still need to install a recoil pad and parkerize some of the parts to reduce...

The more I consider it, the more I'm tempted just to keep it. The high comb and length of pull for me really well.

Its a good point and may end up leaving it. The chamber cut turned out super smooth anyway.

    Husqvarna 1600/1640

Well, I managed to get the threads and chamber done today including headspacing. Chamber turned out really smooth but I still need to polish it. I also need to inlet the barrel channel and turn down the shank about .1" as it's nearly the same diameter as the receiver ring. Slow progress but...

Thank you for the thorough analysis. You are a wealth of knowledge. I was not aware there were machines vs. stamped bottom metals. I also appreciate the commentary on pricing. If I am every overpriced on something, I would prefer that those that know more than I do say something rather than just...
